Founded in 1961 as the Laguna Beach School of Art, Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) has grown to include five undergraduate programs and three graduate programs that combine to offer fifteen distinct degree tracks. LCAD offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Animation, Design + Digital Media, Fine Arts, Game Art, and Illustration, with the option of specializations within each. LCAD also awards Master of Fine Arts degrees in Drawing, Painting and Art of Game Design.

LCAD is one of an elite number of institutions that has both regional accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and national accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) earning especially high marks for its use of technology and the liberal arts in its art and design curriculum. LCAD graduates are career-ready and receive assistance from the Office of Career Services and its many contacts in the art market and industry. Being an hour from Los Angeles places LCAD students advantageously near world-class museums and galleries, the entertainment industry, and graphic design studios. LCAD’s faculty is comprised of experienced professionals who also are accomplished educators.
